Thirds

Four months ago today was Jen's-and-my 33rd wedding anniversary.

Which means that, today, we've been married for a third of a century.

Time flies when you're having fun, eh?

(And, for those who are wondering - you know who you are - a second third would take us both past our 90th birthdays; but we can talk about that once we make the half. . .)

;)

      And thanks. . .

  2. Congratulations!

I just determined that GS and I will be almost 90 when we reach our third ...heck mid seventies when we hit a quarter.
We're gonna have to work some to catch up in the kid department, too.

    1. Aw, man. . . 10*pi. . . Why didn't I think of that? (lessee. . . that would be 151.8 days past our 31st anniversary; call it 152, since we got married in the early afternoon, and 0.8 of a day would safely put us in the morning of the same day. . . so, January 8, 2012). . .

The decades, even the 5's are always good for an observance; 3/8 of a century would seem kinda contrived, tho. Maybe 100*(Euler's constant), which would be 57.7, give or take; or 100/(phi), where (phi) = The Golden Ratio, (1+(sqrt(5)))/2, about 61.8. . .

But those irrational numbers can get so cumbersome, and by this point, I'd guess that I've glazed over the last eyeball to read this post, anyway. . .

    2. you dissed the pi, there is no greater shame. ;-)

    3. How did I diss pi? I love pi! It's, you know, fundamental to the Universe in all kinds of ways. As irrational numbers go, it's the ultimate boss!

    4. well maybe you can make amends at pi x20 since you missed 1, 2, and 10 .... ;-)

  5. Congrats, although you got sidetracked into irrational numbers... be glad your anniversary isn't being counted in *imaginary* numbers, cuz then you'd have to imagine Jen all over again.

    1. I wouldn't even know how to calculate the date for an imaginary anniversary. . .

Seriously, congratulations. I don't know about you, but for us, 25 was a big deal, way bigger than 20 had been. . .
